Course Detail: O_RELIG - What Is Religion?

Religious people the world over have answers to this question compelling to them. So also do secular students of religion. This course juxtaposes the perspectives of a Roman Catholic priest and a secular anthropologist. We expect that the juxtaposition will highlight complementarity and mutual enrichment. And we hope that class members will contribute their own perspectives. Religious case materials will be featured. Suggested book: When God Talks Back, T.M. Luhrman, ISBN 9780307277275.
