Course Detail: C_FORESTSOFMAINE - Forests of Maine Teachers' Tours

The Project Learning Tree workshop, in addition to the Maine TREE Foundation Teachers' Tour, gives teachers a firsthand introduction to the Forest Ecology of Maine while introducing them to industrial, economic and historic facts about our state.

The PLT workshop supports the tours with curriculum materials - developed by this nationally acclaimed environmental education program - and on-site resources related to Place Based learning. The PLT curriculum is aligned with NGSS, State Standards & Common Core Standards. With close to 90% forest cover, there is a need in Maine to connect educators with our natural surroundings and introduce natural resource studies into their curricula - supported by STEM standards.
