This topics course will offer students an introduction to the Feierabend philosophy of music learning. Students will learn about the history and research which informs the philosophy, discuss folk musics and understand why they are important to music education, learn how to research folk musics and incorporate all genres of music into their classroom. The principles of the 8-part musical workout, and how Feierabend informs other methodologies also will be discussed. This course is an introduction course and does not lead to certification.
