Participants will tour the SCDNR Waddell Mariculture Center facility to learn about responsible methods of stock enhancement for marine finfish in SC. The tour begins at the bluff garden on the Colleton River, the water source for our facility. We then move to our hatchery, where our adult fish are held for spawning and where we conduct experiments on various life stages of fish. Lastly, we will visit a pond to discuss the extensive culture of the fish to be released along the coast to supplement wild populations.

NOTE: Closed-toe shoes are required for entry into the hatchery - sneakers are perfect. Participants may want to wear a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray as 2/3 of the tour is outside.
