To "B" or not to "B" - Fostering Belonging in Nutrition and Dietetics Eldercare

This course is focused on the crucial aspect of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) with a specific emphasis on "Belonging" from the resident's and staff member's perspectives. This presentation will delve into how creating a sense of belonging within the nutrition and dietetics departments can impact our resident's lives as well as our professional environments.

By the end of the course, students will be able to examine real-world scenarios through short dietetics-related case studies that illustrate the challenges and successes of fostering belonging in various nutrition settings; describe one way ANFP is incorporating DEIB into the CDM, CFPP credential expectations; discuss practical strategies related to DEIB within the dietetics field; construct one small, yet impactful, actionable change that can make a significant difference in creating a more inclusive work environment with residents and/or kitchen staff.
