T&L 2900: Close-Up Workshop for Social Studies Education

This continuing education course is designed for high school educators who support or supervise Close?Up programs and experiential civic learning opportunities. Participants will engage in professional learning focused on instructional planning, student supervision, experiential learning strategies, and reflective practices associated with Close?Up experiences. The course emphasizes aligning travel?based learning to curriculum standards, supporting student engagement and leadership, and ensuring safe, meaningful educational outcomes before, during, and after the Close?Up experience. Credit is earned through documented participation, reflection, and application of best practices to support student learning and civic engagement.

Cancellation Policy

If UND receives the Course Withdrawal Form 7 or more calendar days before the learning event start date, the fee paid to UND Professional Development for Educators minus a $35 processing fee will be refunded. If the fee paid to UND is less than $100 the processing fee will be waived. NO REFUNDS are available if a withdrawal notification is received 6 or less calendar days before the learning event start date.
