SPED 523: Assessment in Gifted/Talented Education

Formal and informal assessments of characteristics of G/T learners in the intellectual, leadership, academic, and creative realms for identification and qualification for educational programming; assessment of readiness and content mastery. Ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and data interpretation skills will be practiced. Issues surrounding the identification of G/T learners, including misdiagnosis, stereotyping, and bias will be critically evaluated. Legal issues surrounding this area, and cultural influences on data sources will be explored. 

Prerequisite: Acceptance to UND Grad School as a degree or non-degree seeking student
