Brain Injury Courses, Introduction to Brain Injury

Introduction to Brain Injury will offer learners a chance to develop an understanding of the definitions related to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the challenges that individuals experiencing a brain injury face. This course features two modules:

  • Module 1: Common Physical, Behavioral, and Cognitive Impairments and Interaction Strategies for a Person with a TBI
  • Module 2: Screening for a TBI

Upon course completion the learner will be able to explain how to interact effectively with all people with a TBI, list how you can recognize issues that may arise due to a TBI and strategies to handle them in the most appropriate manner, know how to administer and score a TBI screening tool and determine when to make a referral for further assessment. This course is presented in video format with reviews following each module and a final examination after course completion.
