DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\n\nSCUBA 200 - PADI Divemaster Candidate \n\nBegin your professional diving journey with Umpqua Community College in this SCUBA 200 -  PADI® Divemaster course-the first step into leadership in the diving world. This program is designed for passionate divers ready to expand their skills, build confidence, and serve others through diving.  As a Divemaster candidate, you'll develop advanced knowledge and real-world experience by assisting instructors, supporting dive operations, and helping other divers plan safe, enjoyable dives. You'll become a trusted guide and role model, gaining the ability to lead with confidence while fostering positive underwater experiences for others.  Our program stands apart through its student-centered philosophy. We emphasize a positive, empowering instructional style that adapts to your learning pace, strengths, and goals. Every candidate receives personalized guidance, ensuring you not only meet professional standards but grow into a capable and confident leader.  Earning your Divemaster certification places you among an elite group-fewer than one in ten divers achieve this level. More importantly, it represents a commitment to service, leadership, and continuous growth.  Whether you envision a career in diving or simply want to deepen your involvement in the dive community, this course opens the door to a lifetime of opportunities. Take the next step-train with us and become the diver others look to for guidance and inspiration.Prerequisites to enrol include being certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification) with completed Underwater Navigation Dive; 18 years of age; Logged 40 Open Water SCUBA dives; EFR/CPR Primary and Secondary Care training (or qualifying training) within 24 months; Medically evaluated and cleared for diving by a physician within 12 months. SCUBA diving is not without risk. In order to participate in this PADI® Divemaster Candidate Program a completed medical questionnaire signed by a doctor is required. Students will also need to be reasonably fit and comfortable in the water. If the candidate is a youth 15 to 18 years old, they can enroll with our PADI® Junior Divemaster option.
