Course Detail: GDPR103 - GAMING DESIGN FOR PROGRAMMERS (High School) IN-PERSON

The class will jump right into the game programming in C#, so students should have some prior programming experience. However, specific experience with C# is not necessary. Taking one of our Cyber 1,2 3, Game Development or Web Development class prior to taking Game Design is recommended but not required.
This course is taught by Dr. Marc Olano, Director of the Computer Science Department's Game Development Track and 3D photogrammetric scanning facility.He prepares students for careers in the Video Game industry and exposes them to internship opportunities at local game development companies such as Firaxis, Big Huge Games, Epic Games, Mythic Entertainment and Zynga. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Computer Graphics Techniques, an open-access journal dedicated to practical graphics research. Teaching Assistant: Junior Sei is pursuing his BFA in Visual Arts with a concentration in Animation.He is a member of the UMBC Game Development Club and has been a character animator and special effects artist for his team based game-development courses. He is also the Teaching Assistant for SEA's Japanese Animation and Director's Cut courses for the second year in a row.
Note:Students will need PC or Mac computer capable of running UNITY Editor. Students will also need to download free software before the program starts and will receive specific instructions the week before the class runs. Programs include: UNITY, Github for UNITY and Visual Studio.
In Person Class on UMBC Campus: Students will be required to wear a mask while indoors and socially distance 3 feet apart.
