Rohan Ahuja: International Master

Do you have a student looking to grow as a competitive chess player? Are you interested in affordable and personalized instruction? Students in UMBC'S chess development program, Chess Academy, will work one-on-one with an experienced, titled player from the UMBC Chess Team.

Our coaches evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your student to design a customized course of instruction, focusing on opening, middle-game, and endgame techniques, that will help develop your student as a competitive chess player.

Rohan Ahuja: International Master is from India in his Senior year at UMBC, studying Computer Science. He achieved his IM title in January 2016 after securing four norms in just six months! He is a three-time Goa State Champion, achieving this feat for the first time at the age of 13 years. He has earned three bronze medals in the U-14 at the ASEAN championships in 2012. He also served as captain of the Goa State Team at the age of 15, leading his team to its highest-ever finish at the National Team Championships in 2014.
