Course Detail: ADSN-5087N - Open Edition Printmaking

This course price includes tuition, $50 nonrefundable registration fee & a $40 nonrefundable course fee.

A printmaker's dream come true, this studio-based course offers intermediate and advanced artists a collaborative learning community, instruction from a skilled printmaker and access to some of the best printmaking facilities in the city. Resources and instruction span screenprint, relief, intaglio, lithography and digital printmaking techniques. Weekly sessions include demonstrations as well as one-on-one guided assistance, informal dialogues and work time. Group critiques are held informally throughout the semester, and formally at the end of the course. Prerequisites: Introduction to Printmaking or equivalent training/experience. You should be proficient in at least one printmaking medium.

Course Overview
The majority of the course will be dedicated to giving you time to work on a series in your preferred print medium/media.

What will you do in class?
  • Complete a body of prints for exhibition or exchange 
  • Explore your print process of choice
  • Discuss your work in critique and receive feedback from classmates, the instructor and guest artists

Supplies/Equipment
Necessary supplies will depend on your print media. Please note: for people interested in doing etchings: the printmaking shop has moved to Ferric acid, and does not use a rosin box for aquatint.
