System Verification, Validation, and Accreditation (VV&A) through Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Testing

Review a Systems Engineering (SE) approach to System Assessment (SA) utilizing an Enterprise of combined Modeling and Simulation (M&S) and Testing. Begin with fundamental concepts and operating principles of SE as well as basic techniques that govern the SE process. Identify how SE enables the SA mechanism. Address the problem-solving practice and some of the traditional techniques used by systems engineers. Learn about analysis and control tools with focus on M&S and Testing. Develop an understanding of the objectives of systems analysis and its foundational role in SE.

Discover how model based systems engineering (mbse) approaches provide the underlying digital knowledge baseline to build assessment measures. this course provides broad coverage of analytical methods that, with tests, basis for system verification, validation, and accreditation processes procedures.< /p>

What you will learn:

  • Understand the planning, processes, and products of system evaluation and system assessment through testing.
  • Learn how to build assessment and validation plans that map required system performance to test and analysis events.
  • Learn to develop a functional dendritic to assess system performance based upon test results.
  • Understand the relationship between Modeling & Simulation (M&S) and Testing in a Model-Test-Model approach, as well as in Live-Virtual-Constructive environments.
  • Learn the meaning and importance of operationally relevant environments as it relates to Technical Readiness Levels (TRLs) and how to assess threat and environmental realism for test design.
  • Put these skills into practice in the controlled environment of course example problems.

Key Takeaways:

  • Systems engineering process models
  • Tools for developing systems models
  • Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts
  • System assessment definition
  • Compliance vs performance
