Advanced Missile Guidance, Navigation, and Control

This highly structured short course is specifically tailored to meet the needs of busy engineers, scientists, managers, and aerospace professionals. Explore advanced topics and learn new insights into the modern guidance, navigation, and control techniques now being perfected at key research centers around the globe.

  1. Coverage of difference guidance laws/methods (CLOS, Lead Angle, Pronay, etc.).
  2. Closed loop seeker guidance and command guidance.
  3. Guidance and autopilot functions/roles.
  4. Inertial navigation, external guidance aides (SATNAV).
  5. Maneuverability vs. Stability of airframes.
  6. Equations of motion - basic understanding of relationship of inputs to trajectory.
  7. Basic descriptions of coordinate systems and angles of attack, sideslip, trim, etc.
  8. Basic understanding of moments and forces - standard curves and impact on trajectories.
  9. Hardware considerations in missile design/performance.
  10. Performance testing methodology - test concepts to assess missile ballistic and closed-loop performance.
