Course Detail: BLSII - BLS for Healthcare Providers- Instructor Initial Certification
American Heart Association Instructor training consists of several stages. All stages have been noted with detailed information on the completion process.

1. EMAIL the TAMIU Training Center (TC) at expressing your interest and intent on registering for this course. If a session date has not been advertised they will advise you of the next date.

2. COMPLETE and SUBMIT the "Instructor Candidate Application" attached to the Session. If no session has been scheduled request the form in Step 1.

3. SUBMIT a copy of your current BLS Provider card, front and back.

4. PURCHASE the BLS Instructor teaching materials AND the Heartsaver Instructor teaching materials.
- As a BLS Instructor you are also allowed to teach all components of the Heartsaver course. As a result, TAMIU TC requires that you have both teaching materials available.

5. COMPLETE the Discipline Specific Instructor Essentials (ONLINE) courses and SUBMIT the Certificates of Completion. You can purchase the courses through

-B. BLS Instructor Essentials (code: #90-1429)

6. ALIGN with the American Heart Association Instructor Network AHA Instructor Network.

7. REGISTER and PAY applicable fee of $600.00

8. ATTEND the classroom training (Day 1) that starts at 8:30am - 5:00pm. This course is taught by TAMIU TC Faculty (TCF).

9. ARRANGE to schedule and teach the practical with the TAMIU TCF.
After you have completed all these steps the TCF will submit all required documentation to the TC. The TC will in turn complete all necessary steps to activate you as an American Heart Association BLS Instructor.
