Course Detail: VOTESWOMEN - Votes for Women! Women's Equality and Historical Changes

In 1920 American women finally achieved the right to vote with the ratification of the 18th Amendment - but women continued to work hard at much more than just their political voice. This OLLI course will examine many of the significant historical changes in the lives of American women in the past 200 years. Women have struggled to enroll in colleges to gain certifications to be medical doctors, dentists, professors as well as voters, politicians, soldiers and other related fields that were forbidden them in previous decades. The class will utilize videos, PowerPoint and discussions. It will be led by Dr. Diana Garno, retired history professor and OLLI member
