The United States Supreme Court is called upon as the final arbitrator in Constitutional conflicts, and our Country is currently embroiled in highly controversial conflicts. The course will discuss recent decisions by the Court in its most recent term (2019-2020) and speculate about cases accepted for argument in the coming term (2020-2021). The Court's recent and controversial decisions regarding religious freedom and governmental regulation, abortion and state restrictions, jury verdicts in criminal trials, subpoenas for the financial records of the president and other cases will be explained and discussed.
