Course Detail: WOOL2 - 23 Opening Doors: Tour Zeilinger Wool Co & Pasta Cooking Demo - Thursday, October 22

This woolen mill is a 110-year-old, 25 person company that makes yarn and other products. You will see how the wool (puffs that come straight from a sheared sheep or other animal) is washed and put through the carding machine to be combed. Some of the fiber is made into roving, which is used for yarn and crafts. The rest becomes batting and stuffing for comforters, mattress pads and bed pillows, which Zeilinger employees make by hand. Tour takers may also check out the sock machine. There will be a discount at the company store as well. Following the tour we'll meet at Prost Wine Bar & Charcuterie (576 Main Street) to snack on charcuterie while the Prost chef demonstrates how to make your own pasta. We will then enjoy a pasta lunch. This local adventure includes tour of woolen mill, pasta demo, charcuterie, and lunch. Participation limited to 10.
