Course Detail: WASTEWATER - 19 Opening Doors: Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour in Frankenmuth

The Frankenmuth Water Resource Recovery Facility was originally constructed in 1954. The original facility consisted of primary and final settling tanks and the trickling filter process for biological treatment of organic pollutants. Renovated and expanded in the 1970's, 1981, and 1998, the new facility is designed to provide treatment for an annual average flow of 1,800,000 gallons per day and a maximum flow of 7 million gallons per day. After touring the plant, participants will enjoy lunch in a private dining room at Bavarian Inn. This local adventure includes tour of the wastewater plant, fish ladder and levee, and lunch. Participation is limited to 20.
