DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\n\nSummer Art Camp: Ages 2nd-3rd Grade \n\nSIUE's Summer Arts is an all-day program serving K-8 students. Our instructors bring exciting art lessons in innovative media to students, allowing them to learn new techniques, collaborate with their peers, and express themselves creatively. This registration is for those students entering 2nd through 3rd grade in the fall.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Located in SIUE's Art &amp; Design West building, students have access to state-of-the-art studios, supplies and classrooms. Great for all students in grades K-8, children are placed into classrooms based on their grade level. Each themed week features personalized curriculum according to the student's age level. </div><div><br></div><div><div><b>Art Camp 1 - June 1-5, 2026: 2-D Exploration: </b>During our 2-D exploration week students will explore a multitude of 2-D media. With mediums ranging from Painting and Drawing, to Photography, Printmaking and more, students will work side by side with professional artists and educators to create new and exciting 2-D artworks.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Project examples include</b>: Printmaking, Drawing with mixed media, Paintings</div><div><br></div><div><b>Art Camp 2 - June 8-12, 2026: 3-D Exploration: </b>During our 3-D exploration week students will work with local ceramic artists and art educators to create pottery and multi-media sculpture. Covering a vast array of techniques including primitive clay excavation, wheel throwing and mold making, students of all ages will discover the exciting possibilities 3-D art has to offer.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><b>Project examples include:</b> Handmade Pottery, Recycled Material Sculptures, Paper Mache Sculptures</div><div><br></div><div><b>Art Camp 3 - June 22-26, 2026: Arts &amp; Crafts: </b>Arts &amp; Crafts week at SIUE's Summer Art offers students the experience of working with a variety of art media including pottery, jewelry making, and textiles art. Students will work with local artists and educators to create new and exciting craft projects.</div><div><br></div><div><b>Project examples include: </b>Weaving, Ceramics, Tie Dye</div></div><div><br></div><div>Please register for the weeks your camper will be attending below.
