The LVA has the most comprehensive collection of Virginia genealogy materials ranging from the earliest colonial times to the present. A few highlights: over 121 million state, local, and federal government records; over 54,000 maps; and more than 2,500 newspapers and journals.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>This is a 2-session class. The first class is on-campus and will give you a foundational understanding of the LVA's services, their collections (online and on-site) and how to focus your research.
