Course Detail: SMFF - Sheet Metal Fabrication Fundamentals

This course provides basic instruction on the layout and forming of flat sheets of metal into shapes and objects. Students will learn how to draft and work from shop drawings depicting 3-dimensional objects. They will learn layout skills using Parallel Line Development and some Geometry. Participants in the course will be instructed in the proper use of hand and power sheet metal tools as well as shop equipment. Students will also learn about the properties of the various metals used in this type of fabrication.

Basic Sheet Metal Trade Math (6 hrs) 
Reading Prints and Shop Drawings (8 hrs) 
Metals and their Properties (2 hrs) 
Measuring and proper Pattern Layout (12 hrs) 
Sheet Metal Forming and Fabrication (12 hrs)

This course offers sessions for the general public as well as an SPC Cohort. Please note the distinction for each under the schedule for the desired course.
