Launched in 2013, Canva is an online design and publishing tool with a mission to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere. In this course, students will discover Canva Pro through applied projects that build design skills for personal, business, and educational use. Students will create a variety of digital media, including personal planning tools, event promotions, social media content, marketing and brand identity, presentations, and more.

Whether you need to up your social media game, send a photo collage to a friend, invite family to a party, scale your brand, create event signs fast, collaborate with a team, teach 3rd graders with captivating visual aids, or create administrative newsletters, Canva Pro has what you need.

This course includes weekly email communication from the instructor. Emails may contain important announcements, class updates, learning resources, and follow-up materials to support your progress throughout the course.

Skill Level: Beginner Canva users are welcome; however, participants should already have basic computer skills. The instructor will focus on Canva features and design techniques and will not be able to provide extensive instruction on general computer use.

Day 3: Educational Templates and Advanced Tools

Day 4: Organize Projects & Assets

Please Note: Students will need to purchase a Canva Pro membership subscription prior to the first course meeting if they do not already have one. This membership is necessary to participate in the course activities. The fee for membership is $15/month presently.

To earn a digital certificate for this course, students must:

Attend at least three classes, and
Submit a minimum of two assignments, including the final assignment.

About the Instructor

Marjae Cashdollar is a Designer and Illustrator with a passion for helping others succeed through shared knowledge. She holds an Associate of Science in Commercial Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts / Photography from Indiana University School of Visual & Performing Arts. With over 25 years of creative experience, she has extensive knowledge in the fields of graphic design, branding, product design, photography, illustration, large format printing, event signage, lettering, painting and more.
