Instructor: Marissa Angell

Marissa Angell
Marissa Angell has worked in the field of landscape architecture for nearly eight years; managing, designing, and assisting in the construction of both public and private landscapes. Hailing from the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Angell derives inspiration from wild plants, natural forms, and processes, all of which feature heavily in her work.

After graduating with an MLA from the Harvard Graduate School of Design in 2015 and serving as a Career Discovery Instructor at the GSD for the summer, Marissa spent six years at Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc., working her way to Associate while accruing valuable experience in projects ranging from micro (a 500 sf Brooklyn backyard) to macro (a 350+ acre masterplan project in Toronto, ON).

She has since shifted her focus to owning and operating her own design firm. In addition to her solo projects, she consults as a registered landscape architect for a number of different firms in the public and private sphere.
