As urban populations expand and access to arable land and potable water shrinks, agri-entrepreneurs are turning to innovative systems to grow food indoors without soil-aeroponics, aquaponics, and hydroponics. Four NYC-based experts—Kathleen DeBrota, Senior Manager of Research and Development Operations at AeroFarms; Maya Kutz, Greenhouse Manager at Brooklyn Grange; John Kell, Director of Communications at Square Roots; and Joél Mejia, Founder of Mi Oh My Hydroponic Farms—will explain how their systems currently produce high-quality food and discuss what these new technologies mean for agriculture, climate, and culture today.
