Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the history, benefits, and common misconceptions surrounding massage during and after pregnancy.</div><div><br></div><div>The curriculum covers:</div><div><ul><li>Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and postpartum recovery</li><li>Musculoskeletal and structural adaptations throughout pregnancy and after birth</li><li>Physiological, emotional, and psychological effects of stress on mother and baby</li><li>Contraindications and safety considerations, including high-risk pregnancies</li><li>Proper positioning and draping techniques for each trimester and postpartum stages</li><li>Techniques, stretches, and self-care strategies to support maternal well-being during pregnancy and after delivery</li><li>Common postpartum conditions, including diastasis recti, low back and pelvic pain, and muscular imbalances, and how massage can assist recovery</li><li>Supporting emotional and nervous system regulation during the postpartum period</li></ul></div><div>The hands-on practicum provides guided practice for both prenatal and postpartum techniques, helping you confidently and safely support clients through pregnancy and their post-birth recovery. You will also explore strategies for integrating prenatal and postpartum services into your practice.</div><div><br></div><div><b>What to bring:</b> writing materials, two sets of sheets, massage cream or oil, two standard bed pillows, and three pillowcases.</div> \n\nEvent Schedule:\n\n16 CE credits.
