Cupping therapy is an effective modality that is gaining increasing attention after advocacy by celebrities and sports stars. The safe application of this technique, however, requires knowledge and skill. This comprehensive, practical workshop will teach you all you need to know to safely add the benefits of therapeutic cupping to your practice. It will cover the application of cups, silicone cups, mechanical pump-cups, as well is disinfection and sterilization procedures.

End-Point Learning outcomes:

  • Demonstrate entry level proficiency in the basic skills of applying cups, silicone cups and mechanical pump-cups
  • Identify medical risks involving cupping and apply risk reduction strategies
  • Describe the essential elements of cupping disinfection and sterilization for reusable cups
  • Identify the conditions for which cupping is contraindicated as well as conditions where special caution is needed
  • Demonstrate safe handling of cups in the disinfection process

(Please note:  NCBTMB will not approve this class for CE hours for Massage Therapists because we teach fire-cupping.)
