Course Detail: VETASSIST - Veterinary Assistant NOT Veterinary Technician

With more than 85 million households owning at least onepet, the veterinary career pathway starts with the Veterinary Assistantrole.  This instructor-led, in-person program requires 75 hours hands-ontraining, 25 independent learning hours, and 40 hours externship.  

Veterinary Assistants work with veterinarians and veterinarytechnicians to provide quality care for healthy, sick, and injuredanimals.  You will receive hands-on training on the correct handling andcare of pets, learn proper examination procedures, and discover how to checkfor signs of illness and industry.

Additional topics include standards, anatomy and physiology,medical terminology and acronyms, nutrition, legal, ethical, and professionalstandards.

This class is entry level and specifically NOT a VeterinaryTechnician class.  Textbooks and scrubs are purchased separately.

While licensure/registration/certification is not requiredin California, participants will receive a Fear Free Certification that ispreferred by most employers.
