The Hovercraft Project models science, teamwork, and leadership to 6th - 8th grade students through a fun and immersive learning experience. Come and build a fully functional, safe, and reusable hovercraft! Working in teams of six, students engage in project based STEM learning to build a rideable hovercraft in just a matter of hours! Students manage their groups, design and assemble their crafts, test and evaluate, make changes to improve performance, and compete for speed and distance.
This program is open to students in grades 6-8 currently enrolled in the following public school divisions: Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, Hanover, Henrico, King William, Petersburg, and Richmond.
