This 4 hour course will discuss inspecting storm damaged houses, both before and after repairs have been made to the house. With so many houses recently damaged from Hurricane Irene and Super Storm Sandy, this course will serve to broaden the knowledge base of home inspectors who practice in this area. The course will include an introduction to the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and its terminology; case studies of storm damaged houses; concerns such as structural, electrical and mold issues; strategies to minimize future storm impacts; and items to focus on in repaired houses, including generator installations.
