Course Detail: NU0127 - Advanced 12 Lead EKG Interpretation For The Practicing Nurse

This course is an introduction to the interpretation of 12 lead EKG for the practicing nurse in the primary or acute care practice. Included in this discussion is the role of the advanced practice nurse in assessment and management of the client with chest pain and left ventricular hypertrophy utilizing a case study approach. Topics included are recognition of patterns of infarction, axis deviation, chamber hypertrophy, and bundle branch blocks. Students should have a basic understanding of cardiac arrhythmias and the cardiac cycle.
