Course Detail: MC1000 - Cultivating Online Musical Partnerships: The Application of Music-Centered Practice in Telehealth

Music therapists have faced unique challenges in the application of services via telehealth. This course will explore the modifications, applications, and new developments music therapists have established to move the practice into this new format. If you attended the fall telehealth program you will learn how to apply the resources shared in clinically diverse pathways. (Please note: you can attend this program without having attended the fall program). Topics will include application of digital musical resources, clinical improvisation, improvised songs, adaptations to precomposed repertoire, and musical story-telling through experiences capitalizing on the unique circumstances working through video conferencing services. The importance of listening, creating musical partnerships, and considerations of timing will be discussed.
