This certification review course for those preparing for the certification exam, as well as those interested in general nurse practitioner practice guidelines. The first 2 sessions will be on Zoom and the last session will be in-person on the Rockville Centre Campus. The last session will be 3-hour lecture and a 3-hour mini physical assessment focused review (hands-on). The course will focus on preparing for the certification exam as well as general NP practice guidelines. Students will have the opportunity to review physical assessment findings related to patient care management strategies. That includes review of medications, case scenarios, disease entities (Signs & Symptoms) and treatments. In addition, normal lab values and what to do when abnormal findings are discovered as well as scope of practice, legal issues, and basic information for certification.
