Course detail: Leadership Live One-Day Workshop: Leading with Emotional Intelligence

Just being great at your job is no longer enough. Technical competence is only half the picture in the current business landscape. Employers want professionals who possess high Emotional Intelligence, or EQ, which is an array of social competencies that determine how we relate to ourselves and others and how we deal with the demands and pressures of our work and family lives. Unlike IQ, which is "hard wired" and predominantly hereditary, EQ can be learned, developed, and enhanced. All of us are deficient in some domain of EQ, but we can work to improve.

This program includes a free EQ assessment and the exploration of several tools to help you improve in the domains of self-awareness and relationship management.

Learning Objectives
  • Assess your own emotional intelligence using a scientific inventory
  • Enhance your self-awareness and relationship management skills through the application of several reflection techniques
  • Utilize active listening skills to foster "other awareness"
  • Diagnose team, unit, and organizational EQ

Who Should Attend?
  • Any professional who wishes to apply emotional intelligence learning to their work and life.
