Course detail: Implementing Change: A Personal, Professional and Organizational Perspective

Course Description:

How do we change our world, our community, our workplace or even ourselves? Organizations and communities don't change. People do. To accommodate sustainable change, we first must learn how the human mind views and adapts to change.

We will discover how the mind addresses change, find out how to overcome resistance to change, examine the process for making change and learn why measuring & planning are essential. We will examine evidence-based research to gain new knowledge and tools and leave with a blueprint that will make change less intimidating and successful.

Core Competency
  • Participants will appraise and adopt the duties and behaviors incumbent upon a law enforcement leader who acts in ways that support the needs of their organization, community and profession.
Instructional Methods:
  • Interactive Lecture - Applied Learning Exercises
Who Should Attend:
  • All Law Enforcement - We all must manage change. This informs people why we are all so resistant to change and how to overcome it through that understanding. Class is designed with supervisors in mind but a deputy or officer or entry level clerical person would come away with a better understanding of how to move through change.
