Event: Grain Purchasing - Part II: Contract Pricing and Hedging
Part II Topics:We will delve into the realm of commodity price risk management. The class will study the workings of commodity exchanges, futures trading, hedging and price risk management. This will include discussions of futures, options and OTC contracts and how they are applied to a risk management strategy.
Pricing:Full Course: Part I & II with Field Trip ($3,150)
Part I: Fundamentals of Grain Purchasing ($1,250)
Part II: Grain Trading & Hedging ($1,200)
Who Should Attend:International grain/soybean buyers, government officials and other responsible for the purchase, shipment and handling of U.S. grain and soybeans. This course is especially useful to individuals in private companies taking on the responsibilities for grain purchasing formerly done by government agencies. An increased understanding of the U.S. grain marketing system will enhance the participants' ability to buy U.S. grain with greater confidence and effectiveness.
Optional Field Trip Information:If added to a Part I or Part II, the cost is an additional $850/person and covers airfare to and from the Kansas City airport, local transportation to and from the airport, travel to facilities on tour schedule and hosting fees. Each participant is responsible for hotel and meal costs. Please review the hotel information for contact numbers, dates and rates.
To enroll in the field trip, please return to the course listings and select the field trip option after enrolling in Part I or Part II.
Refund PolicyUpon request, refunds for withdrawal made prior to fifteen days before a course start date will be fully refunded, minus a $100 processing fee. Participants also have the option to roll registration to another course if used within one calendar year from the start of the course. Registrations can be transferred to other individuals upon approval. Requests made fourteen days or less before a course start date will not be refunded.
Cancellation PolicyThe IGP Institute reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses if minimum enrollment numbers are not met. If a course is canceled, participants will be refunded 100% of their tuition. If a course is rescheduled, participants will have the opportunity to have 100% of their registration fees applied to the rescheduled course, or receive a full refund.
Publicity StatementRegistration for this event gives consent for photographs, publicity and inclusion on the participant list unless K-State Global Campus is notified in writing prior to the start date.
