Study for the Class A and Class B water operator's license examinations, which are administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. There are no experience requirements to take the drinking water exams. Once the exam is passed, the examinee is designated as an Operator-in-Training until they meet the experience requirements and submit an application for full certification.
