Course Detail: LLC.1362 - LLC 1362 Rocket Science 101: Design, Build, Launch

Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience as we explore rocket science at the Trackman Planetarium! Students will investigate the challenges of space travel, witness real space launches, explore behind-the-scenes NASA footage and discover the future of space exploration. After learning about rocketry in the dome, students will build their very own Estes Cosmic Ray model rocket then head outdoors for launch. Students will safely prep the launch pad, follow proper countdown procedures and blast-off! We'll track peak altitudes of up to 1,300 feet while learning more about aerodynamics, stability, propulsion and the engineering design process. This hands-on experience brings physics and engineering to life as students design, build and launch a real rocket. Ages 10-14.
