Biography: Veteran, and avid shooter, Ed Martin has been teaching pistol craft at JJC for 10 years. He teaches N.R.A Basic Pistol, then Illinois Concealed Carry for the 16-hour requirement. This gives the student a much better understanding of firearms in general. He also teaches Utah CCW, which opens up more states to legally carry in.

Illinois Concealed Carry
In order to apply for an Illinois concealed carry permit, student must successfully complete both the N.R.A. Basic Pistol Course (8 hours) and the Illinois Concealed Carry Permit Training Course (8 hours) for a total of 16 hours.

N.R.A. Basic Pistol
Learn gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship and shooting range safety.
