This continuous improvement methodology combines Lean Manufacturing Tools such as the 5S system of Workplace Organization and Standardization, Cells, Pull/Kanban, Set-up Reduction, and Line Balancing. Each tool incorporates team empowerment, brainstorming, and problem solving to rapidly make improvements to a specific product or portions of work processes.
Expedite the effective applications of mistake proofing methodology to improve and maintain processes. You will examine defect prevention techniques, explore zero-defect measures, work with various mistake proofing techniques, and understand how to deploy practical mistake-proofing measures.

Standard Work: Learn to implement standardization and standard work in your workplace. This workshop presents an approach to eliminate waste from production processes. The methods and goals discussed in this workshop are closely related to the lean manufacturing system.Error Proofing: Using simple, usually low-cost devices, fixtures, and procedures to reduce/eliminate errors. Stops errors before defective parts are created. Frees up the need for human vigilance and memory.
This program offers you an opportunity to experience first- hand how the 5S System reduces waste in the mounting plate assembly area of a simulated production facility.
Gain knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and how it relates to capacity. You will apply TPM principles and techniques to equipment in a hands-on simulation and experience how applying TPM can achieve dramatic improvements in uptime and increased capacity.
During this program you use the powerful Value Stream Mapping tool to create a current state map of Acme Stamping, a real-world firm featured in a detailed case study. Use the VSM icons and learn the common language of Lean as you draw your current state map for Acme. Next, you analyze Acme's current state, find the non-value-added activities, and then draw a future state map for Acme that eliminates those activities. You also develop a plan for attacking those non-value-added activities.
