Course Description: Join us for a two-part training overview of GovState's key academic systems, designed for both administrative and academic staff.
Part 1: Colleague CFI Overview & Daily Operations
On Tuesday, December 9 at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM with instructor Laura Owens
Part 1 Description: This session focuses on the technical and operational backbone of academic administration. Participants will receive a general overview of the Ellucian.
Part 2: Faculty Onboarding & Academic Systems Integration
On Tuesday, December 16 at 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM with instructors Laura Owens & Judy Ferneau
Part 2 Description, divided into two critical components:
- 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: IT Faculty Onboarding & MyGSU: Led by Judy Ferneau, this segment guides administrators through the lifecycle of a new faculty hire. Topics include coordinating with HR for contracts, IT for FERPA compliance, and Facilities for office setup (keys/painting). Attendees will also learn to navigate the MyGSU Portal Self-Service to assist faculty with locating pay stipends, handbooks, class rosters, and grade entry.
- 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Additional Academic Systems Overview: Led by Laura Owens, this segment answers the "What, When, and Why" regarding GovState's various academic platforms. This high-level overview introduces staff to 25Live (Event Planning), Marcom WorkZone (Marketing requests), WeBi (Reporting), eValue/Watermark, and Slate (Admissions), identifying available training paths for each system.
Who Should Attend: Staff involved with academic scheduling, faculty support, or curriculum management.
