DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\n\nWill County Jaguar Jumps Part 2: Mental Health & Career Pathways \n\n<div><p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">The Will County&nbsp;<b>Jaguar Jumps Part 2 Spring 2027 Cohort </b>serves as the second semester and advanced continuation, designed for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This course deepens career readiness, self-knowledge, professional network integration, and clinical mental health literacy. Building upon the foundational work completed in the Fall semester, students move into active workforce execution and applied personal development. Key career readiness milestones include mastering the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality assessment to align personal strengths with work environments, perfecting and executing targeted professional resumes, engaging in high-stakes mock interviews, and attending the Pathways to Professions in Will County. The course culminates in Internship Match Day, where students interview with regional employers and secure a supported micro-internship placement. Concurrently, students complete three advanced 15-hour Mental Health Micro-Credentials focused on workplace resilience, emotional mastery, and systemic advocacy.</p></div><div>LEARNING OBJECTIVES &amp; COMPETENCIES</div><div><br></div><div>Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:</div><div><ul><li><b>Resume Mastery &amp; Execution: </b>Construct, tailor, and present an error-free, industry-aligned professional resume for active micro-internship applications.</li><li><b>Self-Awareness &amp; MBTI Utilization: </b>Articulate personal personality preferences, interpersonal communication styles, and workplace strengths using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator framework.</li><li><b>Professional Interviewing Skills: </b>Perform with confidence in multi-turn mock interviews and real-world employer interview environments during Internship Match Day.</li><li><b>Micro-Internship Placement &amp; Transition: </b>Successfully match with a regional employer host and execute micro-internship duties with supported coaching.</li><li><b>Advanced Mental Health &amp; Workplace Resilience: </b>Apply advanced cognitive-behavioral, somatic, and self-advocacy techniques to manage workplace stress, maintain emotional stability, and navigate organizational dynamics.</li><li><b>Professional Networking: </b>Actively participate in regional workforce development initiatives, including the Pathways to Professions event in Will County.</li></ul></div><div><b>EMBEDDED MICRO-CREDENTIALS (45 TOTAL HOURS)</b></div><div><br></div><div>Students in this cohort complete three sequential 15-hour micro-credentials awarded by GSU's School of Extended Learning.
