DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\n\nPeer Recovery Support Specialist Training Program (Chicago Apprenticeship Hub) \n\n<div><p><strong>Certified Recovery Support Specialist Success Program&nbsp;</strong></p><p><b>Course Fees:</b>&nbsp;$3,625</p><p><b>Dates:</b>&nbsp;February 23 - August 15, 2026</p><p><b>Times:</b>&nbsp;Meeting Schedule Determined by Instructors</p><p><b>Course Description:</b>&nbsp;<br>The Recovery Support Specialist Training Program will provide high-quality recovery support training and prepare individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges, substance use, or co-occurring conditions to support others in their recovery journeys.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>The 3-course program contains 135 hours of classroom education over three courses:</p><p></p><ul><li><u>Session 1</u>: Fundamentals of Substance Use, Mental Health and Peer Recovery Support</li><li><u>Session 2</u>: Peer Recovery Support: Models, Skills and Practices</li><li><u>Session 3</u>: Application to Diverse Populations and Across Settings</li></ul><p></p></div><div>Course material meets the education requirements for the NAADAC NCPRSS credential, the ICB CRSS credential and the ICB CPRS credential.&nbsp; Students will be provided with documentation that can be submitted for appropriate certifications.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Courses will follow a hybrid format.&nbsp; Synchronous online sessions will be held on Mondays from 6:00-9:00 pm, in-person sessions will be held on Saturdays at the Governors State University camps from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.&nbsp; Students will be required to access and complete coursework using the Blackboard platform.&nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div><p><strong>All registrations must be approved before enrolling by GSU's Addictions Program.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>If you have questions regarding the Peer Recovery training programs or are interested in signing up for future programs please contact&nbsp;<a href="mailto:prssgsu@govst.edu">prssgsu@govst.edu</a></p></div> \n\nEvent Schedule:\n\nEvery weekday, starting on 02/23/26 and ending on 05/19/26\n\nEvent Location:\n\nOnline via Blackboard; Course 1 of 4\n1 University Parkway \nUniversity Park, IL 60484\n
