Elaine Reimer-Pare
Elaine Reimer-Paré is a dedicated educator whose expertise in literature and writing is grounded in a passion for helping students become confident, independent readers and effective communicators. She holds an MA in English from McGill University, a BA in English from George Fox University, and a Secondary Teaching Credential from Fresno Pacific University. Originally from Fresno, California, she now lives in Montreal, Quebec, where she is part of City Church. With professional experience teaching at both the secondary and college levels, Elaine brings a broad perspective to the teaching and learning of English. At Fresno Pacific, she is energized by opportunities to collaborate with fellow educators and share practical strategies for strengthening reading and writing instruction. She continually explores ways to help students discover the inherent value, purpose, and enjoyment of reading and writing well. Through her work, Elaine seeks to enrich classroom practice and inspire teachers to engage students more deeply with literature and the writing process.

Short Stories from American Literature is a professional development course designed for teachers of grades 7-14 where students will read stories by classic and contemporary American authors. The materials also provide a review of the tools for reading, stimulating the development of insight, understanding, and discernment.

The American Novel
This course, designed for teachers of middle school, secondary school, and college level, provides the structure and incentive to read and think about some of the great novels from American fiction. These works have shaped the development of American literature, thought and culture. Teachers will be asked to read two novels selected from a list of 19th and 20th century classics and to respond to their readings in a variety of creative ways.

Children's Literature
