Carla Shearer is an accomplished educator, professor, author, and professional golf instructor whose career has focused on physical education and health. She earned a BS in Physical Education with a minor in Biology from the University of New Mexico, where she also competed on the women's golf team, and later completed an MEd in Education Administration from the University of San Francisco. Carla began her teaching career at New Life Jr. High and High School in Fresno, California, before joining Fresno Pacific University, where she taught physical education and health and supervised student teachers. She also founded Fresno Pacific's women's basketball program and served as its first coach. Beyond education, Carla is a USGTF professional golf instructor who enjoys helping others improve their game. Her poetry and short stories have appeared in publications such as Stories for the Heart. Originally from Jackson, Minnesota, Carla now lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with her husband, Roland. They have two grown children and one granddaughter.
