Jeanne Janzen
Dr. Jeanne Janzen is a dedicated educator and scholar specializing in curriculum and teaching, with a particular interest in how innovative practices can enhance student learning. She serves as Program Director for Fresno Pacific University's master's program in Curriculum & Instruction. Dr. Janzen earned an Ed.D. in Instructional Technology from Nova Southeastern University, an M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Teaching from Fresno Pacific University, and a B.A. in Elementary Education from Tabor College. Her scholarly interests include differentiation for student success, educational technology, the neuroscience of learning, and diffusion of innovation and change theory. She has extensive experience supporting educators through professional development, technology integration, and beginning-teacher support. At Fresno Pacific, she values the opportunity to integrate faith and learning, viewing teaching as a calling that can make a lasting difference in students' lives. She also cherishes supporting student-athletes and learning from international students' diverse experiences.

Performance Assessment Strategies
This course is an introduction to the theory and practice of performance assessment. It examines classroom-based assessment tasks, including visual representations, tasks using writing, oral presentations, and challenging projects and performances. Various methods of assessment are reviewed, analyzing how they inform the teaching/learning experience.

Curriculum Design & Differentiation
This introductory course explores strategic methods and best practices in curriculum design and implementation for differentiating instruction that meets the needs of all students. Educators learn and implement successful strategies for "teaching to the diversity" in today's classrooms. Ongoing forums allow for reflection and refinement of individual teaching practice.

Differentiate With Technology
This course provides an advanced look at the theory, design, and implementation of differentiated curriculum. Strategies and tools for responsive teaching are researched, used, and reflected upon. Technology is used as a major vehicle to differentiate content, process and product. Candidates will interact with district student information systems, research information literacy and Web 2.0 tools, utilize graphic organizer software, and presentation products.
