Sarah Campbell
Dr. Sarah Campbell is an accomplished educator specializing in English as a New Language, Spanish as a World Language, and multicultural and multilingual literacies. She holds an EdD in Language, Culture & Literacy Education from Indiana University, along with master's degrees in Curriculum & Instruction, ESL and Second Language Acquisition, Spanish, from Kansas State University. Her professional experience includes more than a decade as an ENL educator and coordinator in and around New York City, as well as teaching Spanish GED students, newcomer English learners, and university-level Spanish. Dr. Campbell has taught learners from elementary through adult education and is passionate about equipping educators across content areas with practical strategies that make instruction more accessible to language learners. Originally from Derby, Kansas, she now lives in Franklin, North Carolina, where she is an active member of Community Bible Church in Highlands. She is committed to creating engaging, supportive learning environments where educators can confidently strengthen their practice.

Achieving English Language Learners' Fluency
This course is designed to help teachers understand and effectively employ effective, current, research-based methods and strategies in teaching English Language Learners in the secondary classroom while addressing the standards. Mainstream English courses often include ELL students at a variety of levels, including both students who are recent immigrants and students who have lived in the US for many years but still have limited English capabilities.

Building Vocabulary with MLLs in the Content Areas
This course introduces the central tenets of teaching the whole Multilingual Learner, in the secondary content area classroom, utilizing student's background knowledge to boost language acquisition while meeting content area goals and objectives. This course is written for a secondary content area teacher with a population of MLLs, or ENL teachers servicing students in content area classes.

Supporting Multilingual Learners in Early Learning
This course is an introductory course for supporting Multilingual Learners in the mainstream early learning classroom, ages 0-6; written for the general education teacher who has a population of MLLs in their mainstream classes, or for the ENL teacher. This foundational course discusses the similarities and differences of first and second language acquisition, asks students to consider the bilingual/multilingual accessibility of their physical classroom environment & school environment as well as how they utilize and incorporate bilingual helpers in their community.

Culturally Responsive SEL for Multilingual Learners
All students should be supported in school socially & emotionally as they develop through their childhood, yet multilingual learners often have particularly challenging circumstances and/or trauma that can affect the educational experience. This course is for teachers of any content area, K-14, who are interested in improving the social & emotional development of multilingual learners simultaneously while they meet content and language targets.

Connecting with Multilingual Learners (MLLs) through Literacy
This course is for the experienced ESL educator and/or content area educator with ESL certification. This course assumes the educator has knowledge of ESL pedagogy, as well as experiences working with a population of immigrant students. The engaging text models integrating story telling with students to improve literacy as well as create connections with language learners, developing an ideal classroom environment to maximize student literacy outcomes.
