Douglas Bartsch
Doug Bartsch serves as Associate Dean for the School of Education at Fresno Pacific University, where he brings extensive expertise in classroom discipline and culture. He holds a Master of Arts in School Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, both from Fresno Pacific University. A native of Visalia, California, Doug is also a Certified Trainer for the California State Department of Education's Effective Classrooms Training Program. His teaching and professional work focus on equipping educators with practical strategies that foster positive, productive, and supportive learning environments. At Fresno Pacific University, he teaches courses in cooperative learning, character development, and classroom discipline, helping future and current educators develop the skills needed to build strong classroom communities. Doug is passionate about empowering teachers to create classrooms where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally through effective discipline, meaningful relationships, and a strong culture of learning.

Engaging All Students Through Cooperative Learning
The focus of this course is promoting the active engagement of all students by embedding cooperative structures into daily instruction. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of cooperative learning at both the theoretical and implementation levels. Participants will engage in a variety of learning activities such as reading the works of leading theorists, creating original definitions and rationale for use of cooperative learning.

Discipline for Today's Classroom
This course is designed to guide teachers through a series of activities and thought processes that have been found to be effective in creating effective classroom learning environments. The strategies included are supported in the large body of research that exists in the area of student discipline and have proven to be helpful to teachers working in their classrooms.
