Linda Jacobsen is an experienced educator with 38 years of service as an elementary school teacher and a passion for technology integration. A lifelong resident of Clovis, California, she has dedicated her career to helping children discover the joy of learning while building meaningful relationships with students and their families. Her professional experience includes serving as a BTSA support provider, technology mentor, trainer of trainers, and professional development facilitator. Linda especially enjoys helping teachers and administrators learn how technology can enhance instruction and bring lessons to life. She is passionate about preparing educators to integrate technology into meaningful, engaging classroom experiences. As an educator at Fresno Pacific University, she values working with students who are eager to apply what they learn to strengthen their own teaching. Outside of education, Linda enjoys spending time with her family, being on the ocean, practicing tai chi, exercising, and reading a great book.

TEC-940: Virtual Field Trips: Taking and Making

Field trips are an excellent way for students to engage with and learn about artifacts while exploring places that are connected to their discipline of study, bringing their coursework to life. While in-person field trips can be challenging to organize, can be expensive, and usually involve travel, online technology has removed some of these barriers to bring virtual experiences available to students.

The course, Interactive Boards, is designed for any teacher, technology coordinator, principal, or librarian working with an interactive board or monitor. Students will also create "How-To" screencasts to teach their students and/or colleagues how to use these Google tools.

Our most popular course, Google Drive for Educators, is for all teachers, technology coordinators, administrators, and librarians who want to take personal and educational productivity to a new level. You will learn to create documents, quizzes, surveys, slideshows, and spreadsheets using five free Goole applications: Drive, Documents, Forms, Sheets, and Slides. These apps are easy to learn and packed with features.

TEC-960: Internet: Classroom on Wire

Internet: Classroom on Wire is the perfect course for any teacher, technology coordinator, principal, or librarian who wants to use the Internet to enhance their classroom lessons and units. This hands-on course is designed for educators who already know how to navigate the Internet and now want to put this knowledge to some practical use.

TEC-961: Computer Projects for the Classroom

Computer Projects for Your Classroom is designed for instructors and curriculum developers to explore multiple resources to assist them in developing practical lessons that involve using computers. The course activities and assignments focus on motivating student learning by integrating technology into the curriculum. Resources include over 100 online links to lesson plans and lesson ideas specially selected to inspire participants to create their lessons.

TEC-962: Using Google Maps and Earth

In the Digital Storytelling course, you will learn to combine video, music, graphics and narration to create powerful, multimedia stories. Designed to spark creativity and engagement, this hands-on course will help you and your students bring ideas to life using technology for storytelling, including Photo Story 3, PowerPoint, Keynote, iMovie and Windows 10 Movie Maker.

TEC-966: Project-Based Learning Using Technology

Project-Based Learning Using Technology (PBL) is designed to train educators to succeed in using PBL infused with technology with their students. PBL is a teaching method in which your students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period to investigate and respond to authentic, engaging, and complex questions, problems, or challenges.

TEC-973: Data-Driven Decision Making for Teachers

Data-Driven Decision-Making for Educators is all about empowering educators to be able to make informed decisions to improve student learning. The resources, activities, and assignments are designed for you to be able to analyze data, understand the different types of assessments and their proper use, run your own data reports, and communicate your findings with parents, educators, and policy makers.

TEC-993: Technology-Infused Standards

Learn how to create standards-based technology-infused lessons and incorporate them into the curriculum. This course begins with studying state and locally adopted technology standards, including International Standards Technology Education (ISTE) Standards for Students, technology use plans, and subject matter standards.

TEC-996: Google Drive Expanding

Google Drive Expanding is an online course designed for educators who want to apply powerful online productivity tools to standards-based instruction. The course uses a combination of free Google applications and third-party add-ons and emphasizes collaboration with other educators and people worldwide.

TEC-999: Google Certified Educator Level 1

This course, Google Certified Educator Level 1 (GCEL1), is for students who want to pass the GCEL1 exam to become certified and expand their skills and knowledge on using Google applications to improve instruction, communication, and personal productivity. The organization Google for Education created the GCEL1 program.

TECH-910: Technology Tools for Teaching Online

Technology Tools for Teaching Online is a hands-on course that takes a holistic view of the challenges of online teaching and the required technologies. Video conferencing is an integral part of this course, with tutorials and assignments designed for teachers to use their selected VC platform features. Teachers will learn to upload recorded VC sessions and make tutorials. There is much more to this course, including creating an online site for students/parents to keep informed.

TECH-917: Creating a Bitmoji Classroom

Creating a Bitmoji Classroom is a course where you learn to make your virtual classroom that makes learning come alive for your students as they connect to resources, get assignments, take quizzes, and much more. You will add graphics to build scenes such as a living room or a classroom using the online application Google Slides.

TECH-918: Google Certified Educator Level 2

Google Certified Educator Level 2 is for students who want to become recognized as GCEL2 certified with expertise in Google applications and how to use the apps to improve student learning. Google for Education created GCEL2, which, in their words, "is for those educators who want to prove that they are advanced users with expertise in the use of Google classroom tools."
