Course Detail: BEHP1296 - RBT Essentials: Registered Behavior Technician Training 2nd Edition

This training program is based on the RBT Task List (2nd Ed.) and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for RBT certification. The program is offered independent of the BACB. This course provides only the 40-hour training. For all other requirements for RBT certification, please read the RBT Handbook.

Students are responsible for completing the competency assessment requirement independently.

Included in this training course are:

  • All tasks from the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Task List (2nd Ed.) as well as the entire RBT Ethics Code
  • Video lectures, demonstrations and active student responding exercises
  • The opportunity to practice skills specified on the RBT task list

This self-paced course must be completed in no fewer than five and no more than 180 days. Students are required to complete all course components including a cumulative final examination. Refund Policy:

Please note that the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® updates qualification requirements (www.bacb.com) on an ongoing basis. It is the student's responsibility to check with the BACB® about any other requirements prior to registering.

Students who have paid for the RBT Training course may request to drop the course within 30 days of registration; they will receive a refund of any registration fees paid, minus a cancellation fee. To qualify for a refund, the student can have completed no more than the first two modules of the course and the drop request must be submitted within 30 days of the original registration.

Cancellation fees:

  • Courses less than $100: $25
  • Courses greater than $100, but less than $300: $50

Important:The BACB requires that the training be completed within 180 days. The 180-day course time limit begins at the time of registration. Please make sure you register when you are ready to begin the course. The board has also set a five-day minimum for completion of the coursework. They will not accept the coursework if it is completed in fewer than five days or more than 180 days.

Please note: Although the RBT Essentials course is designed to be a 40-hour training, because it is competency-based, some student will require more than 40 clock hours to complete the course. The minimum time required to complete the training is 40 hours.


Group or Company Registrations
